Fins Program 2016

Here are some random pics from the FinS Program release day (Tues., May 17, 2016). This is a program where school classrooms raise rainbow trout from eyed eggs & then release the fish into an approved waterbody. 46 kids from Mother Teresa Catholic School here in Grande Prairie took part this year. Everything seemed to go quite well this year. The weather co-operated & all the fish were successfully released. We wish them all the best. The rest of the day was spent in a great bug & minnow hunt, netting specimens from the lake margins, observing & trying to identifying what we had captured. There was also some fishing equipment brought by Wholesale Sports for those that wanted to give fishing a try. The event was a huge success without any issues other than a number of wet feet due to some participants pushing the envelope (not unexpected). A hotdog lunch was provided & much appreciated.
